About

Carole Brookshire MFT #115869, SUDCC #9298 I am currently Licensed as an MFT and Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor. Therapy provides a safe space to bring about change in the areas we would like to grow by gaining a better understanding of ourselves. Let's work together to discover what will help you in reaching your goals. My approach I practice with Solution Focused, Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Collaborative, Narrative, Mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused therapies. My focus I work with individuals that experience depression, anxiety, stress, negative communication patterns, and post-traumatic stress disorder delivering coping skills to reduce symptoms and process emotions. My communication style As your therapist, I will actively listen and empathize with integrity and discretion. What we discuss in therapy is kept confidential. The only exception to confidentiality is if you were to tell me of child or elder abuse, or if you intend to harm yourself or others. My journey to therapy I have always had a desire to help people with their problems and I am a good listener. I am fascinated by how our emotions can influence our thoughts and behavior. It is rewarding to witness a client's journey with therapy to improve and feeling better through connection. My goals for you As a means to stay focused, we will discuss and collaborate about your personal goals for therapy and prioritize what is most important for you to work on in the session. My first session with you In the first session we will work to establish rapport and begin to talk about the reason you are seeking therapy, from there we will work at a pace that is comfortable for you. I also encourage feedback from you, so we can make sure our sessions are beneficial and that you get to talk about what you want to talk about.
