I am a first generation college graduate. I am married and have two grown sons. My youngest son was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. My father was a WWII and Korea veteran, so I grew up in a very patriotic home. My father and brother both passed from lung cancer, and my mom from COPD. So, I have personal experience with grief.
I decided to go into the field of counseling because I grew up in a chaotic and mentally/physically abusive home. As a consequence, I married two different abusive men, and had to leave to due to domestic violence. Previously I worked in Post Secondary Education as a Career Counseling.
