My name is Carol Silberman and I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in Kansas with over 30 years of practice experience. I specialize in working with Depressive Disorders, aging and caregiving issues, family problems dealing with Alzheimer's and Dementia, assisting clients in coping with physical disabilities, pain, chronic medical conditions such as Diabetes and Parkinson's and how these conditions effect mental health, family and marital relationships. I also have extensive experience working with older adults facing loss, grief and end of life issues.
I consider building a trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients to be of utmost importance. I strive to be warm, interactive, open-minded, nonjudgmental, empathetic, a good listener and problem solver, and I also have a good sense of humor.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is my primary method of practice but I have always considered myself having an eclectic approach to treatment as I don't believe there is a "one size fits all" therapy technique. Therefore, I am skilled at devising many approaches to meet the needs of the client.
