Hello, My name is Carmen Siordia. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is based in Salinas, California. I see clients statewide via telehealth or in person at my office. I believe everyone has the potential to create the life they deserve. I am passionate about helping others work through their difficulties, gain a greater understanding of themselves and find meaning in their life experiences. In sessions, I use a client-centered, non-judgmental approach to help you feel safe and comfortable to share your experiences. I use various methods of therapy based on your needs and goals. Treatment methods I often use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness practices, and Motivational Interviewing. I also use a strength-based approach to explore your own unique qualities to help you realize and access your full potential. I work with adults, couples, and teens. I have experience in working with various mental health issues including Depression, anxiety, PTSD, and difficulties related to trauma history, grief, substance abuse, and relationship problems. Often individuals I work with struggle with feelings of hopelessness, being overwhelmed, or being stuck in a situation. In my work, I can help you learn practical and effective ways to manage the difficulties you are experiencing. My communication style is through active and reflective listening so I can understand what you are experiencing and what changes you would like to see in your life. I provide a non-judgmental space to help you feel comfortable and safe in sharing your feelings and experiences. Through my personal life experiences, I have learned that sometimes we can face problems that are too difficult to work through on our own. I became a therapist because I wanted to help others not only work through difficulties but also explore ways to find meaning and growth from the challenges they've experienced.
