Hello, I am Carlos Mercedes Meran I am a bilingual (Spanish speaking) Mental Health Counselor (LP) with five years of experience in providing couples', individual, and substance use counseling. I earned my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and currently earning my Ph.D. In Mental Health Counseling from Pace University. I have worked in several settings and have experience in many theories as well as the ability to integrate what works best for each person, I am a caring and passionate counselor with a strong understanding that each person has their unique struggles. My person-centered philosophy helps me tailor each treatment to each person, couple, and family. I base many of my approaches on positive psychology and integrate this within Motivational Interviewing, Psychoanalytic, Gottman, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Family Systems. I am committed and dedicated to helping people change their lives for the better and overcome obstacles. Empathy and compassion are the most important parts of fostering growth. I pride myself on my ability to meet people where they are and on my compassionate attitude. I work with everyone to find the best way to help address any and all issues. I specialize in positive psychology and can use that framework with any approach. I am committed to providing the best practices and staying true to the collaboration between myself and with who I am working. I am caring, compassionate, have a great sense of humor, and flexible.
