Hi, I’m Carl Grimm, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty-six experience providing psychotherapeutic services to folks of diverse backgrounds, young and old and everyone in between. Prior to being a clinician, I was deeply involved in urban community organizing in a variety of capacities. My clinical training at Columbia University assisted me in systematically expanding my focus of attention from the larger issues impacting lives to include the personal dimension. Beyond my private practice I have coordinated an array of services to an underserved population in the Bronx, functioned as a clinician in a large urban high school, provided psychotherapy at a community mental health center and provided in-home service for children/adolescents and their families. I am certified in cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy and I have a certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the William Alanson White Institute in Manhattan. My training in relational therapy provides my cognitive behavioral approach with a richer interpersonal perspective useful in the therapeutic providing meaningful service to my clients.
