Hi there, I'm Carissa! My name is Carissa Villa, LMFT#132022. My approach to therapy is calm, compassionate, and understanding. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, and life transitions. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on my client's needs, but will typically involve a person-centered approach, which allows me to meet my client where he/she is in order to set clear expectations and reasonable goals for treatment. My focus I typically work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, or life transitions. My communication style I provide an empathic environment during sessions, communicating acceptance and warmth to my clients. I want them to feel heard and validated in their communications. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to a career as a therapist based on a love of helping people. I love seeing people grow and reach their full potential. I feel privileged to be a part of their journeys, even for a short time. My goals for you My first goal is to establish an open and trusting relationship. Once rapport has been built, we will work together to establish reasonable goals to work on in therapy. We will monitor progress towards these goals and adjust as needed. My first session with you During our first session, we will work on building a connection, establishing a safe space, and discussing recent feelings, as well as how the client best likes to express those feelings.
