About

I am a licensed clinical social worker in South Carolina with over 15 years of experience working as a counselor and clinical therapist. I have worked with adult clients with a broad spectrum of needs including depression, anxiety, grief & bereavement, and adjustment to life changes. In 2013 I began working toward my PhD and am currently writing my dissertation which focuses on the sustained effects of mindfulness treatments.

My counseling style is warm and engaging. I believe all people should be treated with respect regardless or race, religion, sexual orientation, or current circumstances. While I like to blend modalities, my approach is patient centered and tailored to each individual based on current needs. My approach combines humanistic, cognitive behavioral and solution focused counseling.

My personal/professional experience and background has been with psychiatric & oncology patients and their families. I have worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including general medical hospitals, community mental health centers, and psychiatric hospitals. I thoroughly enjoy them all.
