About
I'm Caitrina (Cat), a warm and approachable talk therapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring a touch of validation, psychoeducation, and pop culture into our sessions. My eclectic clinical approach is tailored to the unique needs and experiences of each client, blending various strategies for a personalized therapy experience. Being Latina, I deeply understand the balance between honoring our traditions and adapting to U.S. cultural norms. Through talk therapy, we can address societal pressures, childhood and generational traumas. My experience spans working with individuals of all ages, families, and therapy groups, especially focusing on anxiety and trauma, including in the veteran and Latinx communities. Self-care is a priority in my therapy approach, and while I find solace in hiking with my dogs and family time, I encourage you to discover what self-care means for you. Born and raised in North Chicago, my diverse heritage from Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Chile, shapes my understanding and empathy towards the unique challenges faced by the Latinx community. I completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
