Becoming a Professional Counselor felt natural to me when I first obtained my clinical license in New Jersey. I have a lot of experience working with clients of all ages that are struggling with mental health illnesses as well as substance abuse through outpatient therapy, group therapy PHP and IOP, family therapy, and residential care. I utilize both CBT and DBT approaches to address depression, anxiety, mood instability and/or substance use. In addition to having my LPC, I have a lot of training and experience working with both youth and adults who have had childhood trauma utilizing DBT and Trauma Focused CBT approaches. The main goals for my clients are to improve their overall quality of life, learn healthier coping skills, identify triggers, learn how to utilize the identified coping skills when triggered, process life stressors, and any type of traumas that may be contributing to their mental health. It is important to target the specific needs of the individual and develop a treatment plan with the client to address their mental health goals and treatment of symptoms.
