I am a licensed mental health counselor with a unique background in creative writing and competitive athletics. I have significant experience providing counseling and therapeutic support in a variety of settings including academic institutions, outpatient clinics, substance abuse treatment centers, and residential treatment facilities. I have provided individual therapy, group counseling, academic coaching, substance abuse counseling, and family therapy to adolescents, young adults, adults and elders. I am well-versed in evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. In clinical practice, I tend to favor a person-centered, mindfulness-based approach. I try to meet clients where they are (emotionally, psychologically, etc.) and develop/pursue goals collaboratively.

Though I have worked with clients of all age groups, my current focus is working with the traditional college population (ages 18-22), young adults, and adults. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, depression, life transitions/phase of life problems, and performance-related distress/anxiety. As a person, I am sincere, down-to-earth, and approachable. My greatest hope is to help others achieve an improved quality of life and a healthy perspective in the same way someone once helped me.
