About

As if life didn't seem tough enough already at times, we're now almost 2 years into a worldwide pandemic, so let's just say, I get it. Sometimes it feels impossible to balance life and emotions when the world is unpredictable. There has been so much loss throughout the pandemic in many ways. Therapy is especially helpful when you're experiencing big life changes that you're unsure how to cope with or if you're caught in a cycle of unhealthy coping skills. So with that being said, I am already proud of you for taking the first step toward seeking emotional balance and escaping unhealthy coping skills, even if we never work together!

I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from a CACREP accredited university. I am an independently licensed professional counselor and I am a certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, so I specialize in substance abuse and addictive disorders, but also have almost 10 yrs of experience working with other diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Throughout my career, I've utilized my expertise in the field in a variety of settings including: inpatient residential programs for adults and adolescents, psychiatric intensive care units, inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers/detoxification units, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient therapy including group therapy, and private practice. I have dedicated a lot of my career to working with medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. I offer a safe space for you to share about your experience without me acting like I know more about you than you do!

Sometimes when you are struggling with your mental health, like anxiety or the effects of trauma, you may feel disconnected and misunderstood. I hope to offer positive encouragement and therapeutic support to you because what you are feeling is valid. We will work together to create the healthy, happy, and peaceful life that you deserve.

It's my hope that once a client starts working with me, we will combine my skills and expertise with their strengths and hopefully they will feel a little less alone, and a little more fueled up on self-compassion ready to start the journey to healing and balance!

Due to state licensure, I can only accept clients who will be physically in West Virginia for our virtual sessions.
