Hello! My name is Brittany and I am excited you have taken steps towards beginning counseling. Whether you are only seeking brief support, have been very hesitant of counseling for a long time, or are somewhere in the middle, I recognize the strength it takes to reach out. I approach counseling as a collaborative relationship between the counselor and client, taking time to build trust, as well as customizing treatment to your individual concerns and unique personality. I believe the most important factor in counseling is finding a counselor who is a good fit for you.

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, licensed in both Ohio and North Carolina with four years of counseling experience and one year of professional training. I have experience working with a variety of ages and presenting struggles, including individual and family counseling, depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidal thoughts, chronic medical illness, hearing impaired, grief and loss, life adjustments, relationship issues, parenting problems, women's issues, and survivors of abuse.

My theoretical approach stems from Existentialism, which focuses on assisting you in making sense of life, clarifying personal values, coping with stressors, finding acceptance of life circumstances, and ultimately becoming your best self. Interventions commonly used in my treatment approach include Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), mindfulness, self-care, learning and implementing coping skills, increasing healthy emotional recognition and expression, improving communication skills, and finding fulfillment in your identified life areas. At times, I also use a Solution-Focused Therapy approach for appropriate clients who are seeking short-term counseling.
