Hello! My name is Britney Umemoto. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT) with 12 years of experience providing counseling. I have worked with clients dealing with various issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, job burnout, ADHD, panic/anxiety attacks, life phase transitions. I have also dedicated most of my career to working with individuals who have experienced trauma (physical, emotional, sexual).

My counseling approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and solution-focused interventions. I am very strength-based but also straightforward in my counseling style. I do alter my counseling style to suit the needs of those that I work with. I have always felt that people are all unique and cannot be treated as if they were all the same. I have worked with people from all ethnic/cultural backgrounds of all ages and genders.

I enjoy helping my clients achieve the goals they have set for themselves so that they are able to live their best lives. I am simply the navigator in the therapeutic relationship. I feel that my job is to provide my clients with the potential directions that they could take and in the end it is the client who determines the direction that their therapeutic journey will take.
