Bria Moore is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Connecticut. Since she was a teenager, Bria always had a passion for helping others and helping them find solutions to their problems. Others can describe her as an attentive and active listener and easy to talk to. Growing up in a Caribbean household, Bria realized there was a great stigma towards mental health. She strongly believed that she can be part of the change that her community needed. She advanced her education by getting her master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services in 2020 at Post University. Bria has five years of experience working within a clinical setting and providing evidence-based treatment to adults and adolescents seeking help with depression, anxiety, trauma, conduct disorder, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and self-esteem. Bria has past and current experience working in Corrections, private practice, in-home, and school settings. Bria utilizes a person-centered approach and places great emphasis on the client, so they are able to gain a greater sense of self by empowering, supporting, showing empathy and creating a non- judgmental environment. She also utilizes evidence and strength-based treatment modalities such as DBT skills and interventions, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, and solution focused approaches. While working with each unique client, Bria is able to tailor to their individual needs and help them towards their therapeutic goals. Bria’s personality and positive attitude helps with strengthening her therapeutic alliances. She encourages open communication and honesty between her and her client. Bria believes that with a collaborative approach, clients can benefit from the plethora of skills, techniques and resources that are available in order to make sound decisions in their care.
