I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in the State of Michigan. I have 22 years of professional work experience. I have been fortunate to have gained my experience working with persons with a variety of life issues. Most of my experience was gained working with homeless persons, either counseling them and/or connecting them with community resources (housing, mental health, substance abuse treatment, state and local financial benefits, food and healthcare). In addition, for several years I provided services to seniors (grandparents raising grandchildren), which also included assisting the senior in connecting with community resources and counseling them on varies life issues that assisted them to age in place. Also, I worked with returning citizens (formerly incarcerated) helping them get acclimated to responsibilities of life. So, I have experience in helping clients cope with addictions, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, depression/anxiety, self esteem, family and confidence issues. I generally take a wholistic approach (the person's whole life). I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
