About

Hello my name is Brenda Broadnax and I am an LPC, licensed in the state of Virginia. I graduated with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. I started as a therapeutic Day treatment Counselor in a public school system in VA. My role was to provide direct support to students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. My clinical experiences started in a private practice working with children, adolescents, their families and adults diagnosed with various dual diagnosis. I also worked for the County with clients who were diagnosis with Schizophrenia and other underlying conditions.
I have worked with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, Autism, Borderline, ADHD, DV victims, Homeless population as a clinical case manager, Human trafficking victims, Sexual Offenders, child abuse victims, Bipolar, PTSD and clients diagnosed with ID. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma and emotional abuse.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect and dignity. My thoughts process is everyone has something to work on there is no room for judgement. My approach combines, TFCBT, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, rational-emotive counseling, Narratives Therapy, Mindfulness Reality Therapy, DBT and Eclectic therapy which is an open, integrative form of psychotherapy.

Never be afraid to reach out for support only you can make the change, you already possess many of the skills for your journey.
