Congratulations on your decision to pursue the therapeutic process to help gain a different perspective or insight into the changes you would like to make in your life. I have been practicing counseling for over twenty years and have practiced in a variety of therapeutic settings. I have worked as a therapist facilitating group therapy for approximately ten years, I have worked in the local jails, for over five years, treating individuals with substance abuse issues as well as underlying mental health struggles, I have worked as an individual and group therapist in an inpatient hospital unit and have worked as an individual therapist for multiple years. I consider myself an Adlerian Therapist as I concur with the Adlerian belief that "all problems are social problems" or, at least, that all problems begin with 'social' problems. I also believe in the holistic approach and that in order for us, as individuals, to live the best life, it is imperative that we nurture all three aspects of our being: mental, physical and spiritual. I am also certified and believe in nutritional and integrative approaches for improved health. I have a Master's in Science degree from Medical College of Virginia, in Richmond, Virginia (which is now part of Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical School) and am a licensed professional counselor. I believe in the goal of living the healthiest life possible!
