About
Hello everyone!
If you're reading this, you're probably struggling with something in your life. Good news is, you're not alone. Another tid bit of good news is that you've already taken the first (and sometimes the hardest) step-- you reached out for some help. Just in case you were wondering... there's absolutely nothing wrong with that and in fact, it's admirable. I am a firm believer that people need people. At the end of the day, no one gets an award for navigating through the difficulties of life by themselves.
I am a LMHC with over 10 years of experience counseling both children and adults. For the past 14 years, I have been working in the field of mental health-- and for each of those 14 years, I have learned and I have grown tremendously as a therapist and as a person. It is truly my passion to help people improve the quality of their lives. I completed my Bachelors in Psychology at Ohio University and earned my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida. I consider myself to be laid-back and genuine. It's important to me that anyone seeking counseling understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I am supportive, gentle and honest. I am also assertive and believe that it's important to take personal responsibility for our own actions. I will encourage you to focus on what part you play in various circumstances and will ask that you do your part to focus on yourself and what you have control over. At the same time, I will be your biggest cheerleader. I tend to use a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy and am attentive to how thoughts impact feelings and behaviors. I am also a believer in utilizing Motivational Interviewing skills to elicit behavior change by helping you explore and resolve ambivalence. I find that most people do not give themselves the credit that they deserve when it comes to finding solutions to their problems.
Thank you for reading my profile and considering me as someone to help you through whatever storm you're facing. It would be my pleasure to help!
