About
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York with seven and a half years of experience working with people wanting to make positive changes. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults as well as experience with individual and group treatment modalities. The last four and a half years of my career have been spent working with college age students in a college counseling center. I have been successfully and comfortably practicing with tele-therapy for a year and a half. In addition to clinical work, I spent three and a half years training college age students to become competent and confident peer counselors.
I have worked with clients coping with a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, current and historical trauma and abuse, daily life stressors, mood disorders, personal growth and wellness, grief, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. My approach combines Person/Client Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Rogerian, Strengths Based, Solution Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy techniques and interventions. We will tailor our sessions and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs based on the things that are concerning you and/or the things you want to change.
When working with clients, I strive to make the therapeutic experience warm, interactive, collaborative, non-judgmental, supportive, genuine, respectful, and safe. I believe that you are the expert of your life and that you already have the strengths that will assist you through this journey, and I look forward helping you harness these to make the changes you want.
I believe that therapy is most successful when there is a strong therapeutic relationship consisting of empathy, unconditional positive regard, validation, and compassion as you navigate your concerns. It takes courage to seek out support and to take the first steps towards making change, and I am proud of you for getting started. When you are ready to take the first step, I am here to support and empower you. I am looking forward to meeting you, identifying your goals, and making plans to achieve them!
