About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience providing individual therapy to adults. I work from a combination of depth psychological, mindfulness and life skill training approaches to explore and understand the mysteries of inner life, and to help clients find relief from psychological suffering. In modern times, we have become disconnected from the natural world. In correlation, psychology (the study of the soul), once a spiritual, philosophical and artful endeavor, has become medicalized and pathologized. This is not to say that medical advancements and knowledge cannot be a resource, but to rely on it exclusively does not generally answer the soul’s calling towards depth. I work with clients to get to the root of symptoms such as anxiety, depression, lack of meaning, and relationships struggles by an exploration of complexes, archetypes, and personal mythologies. I frequently use mindfulness, dreams, coping skills, guided meditation and active imagination in my work. It is my experience that this offers clients a rich and deep understanding of themselves.

Over the last 20 years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings helping people with various psychological difficulties including combat related issues, severe and persistent mental illness, cumulative relational trauma, psychological struggles related to brain injury, and trauma related to disasters and violence.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Colorado, and a Master of Arts degree in Psychology/ Counseling from Chapman University. I have been licensed in the state of Colorado since 2000.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, trying to knit, and doing art with my young daughter (usually involving some combination of clay, beeswax crayons, string, paint, pine cones and stinky markers).

It takes courage to start making this inward journey. If you are ready to take that step I am here to help hold the map and the lantern for you!
