About
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 7+ years of experience. Before pursuing a career in counseling, I was enlisted in the PA National Guard then the US Army Reserves. It was while deployed in Afghanistan I realized my passion for listening to and helping others. I began my career working as a 1:1 student aide for Autistic children and children requiring emotional and academic support in the school setting. I then began working within the Veterans Administration system, where I am still currently employed full-time, to support my fellow veterans, working as a Substance abuse group facilitator and with the geriatric/ geri-psych population. In 2015, I began providing Mobile Therapy for children and began facilitating parenting groups January 2021. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, Autism, ODD and ADHD.
My counseling style is a warm, person-centered and interactive. I believe in showing all people the utmost respect, allowing one space to process their thoughts and feelings without judgement. I am very empathetic and compassionate. My approaches includes cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, dialectical behavior, group, mindfulness, and some exposure to family and play therapy.
This is the first step towards making a change. And I am here to support and encourage you in any way that I can. I look forward to hearing from and working with you.
