About
We are in unprecedented times in our lives. We might feel stuck and that traditional ways we have used to relieve stress are no longer working. You might feel you need a place you feel like you are understood. My approach to therapy is in developing true connection as well as holding a non-judgmental space for all I work with. I aim to help those who feel stuck or lost begin the process of healing and self-discovery. I know that sometimes life is messy and can make us feel crazy, abnormal or damaged. I want everyone I work with to realize their true worth and that they are beautiful and resilient humans.
I hold a masters degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota. I have spent my career providing therapy services in homes, school settings as well as traditional office therapy. I have also worked in the child welfare system. I have many years of experience working with individuals and their families.
I work well with people who seek relationships, connection and a touch of humor in therapy. I very much believe that the client and therapist relationship is important and value a client centered and relational approach. I enjoy working with those in the LGBTQ+ communities, those who have been adopted, highly sensitive individuals and really anyone who is working on issues of identity and finding oneself. I consider myself sex positive and welcome anyone into therapy with me. I also enjoy working with anyone experiencing anxiety or depression.
I use a trauma informed approach in my work. I use somatic approaches to treat trauma and truly believe in a mind and body connection. I refer often to AIR Network. I also use approaches of polyvagal theory, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness in treatment. I provide clients with a safe environment to engage, process and work to explore concerns and find their true authentic self.
In my free time, I enjoys spending time with my family as well as cooking, taking walks and I have a small obsession with podcasts and coloring my hair.
