About
I graduated from Antioch University with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Washington and Oregon. As a marriage and family therapist, my main goal is to offer a safe, supportive, environment where you feel honored, respected, and supported. The therapeutic relationship we establish and create together becomes the experience through which you can reconnect with your inherent goodness, explore beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you, experiment with new ways of thinking and making meaning about your life, and recover your innate sense of hopefulness about yourself, your relationships, and your future. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, meaning it is based on meeting clients where they are at with an attitude of empathy, curiosity, unconditional acceptance, and warmth. I strive to support each client in strengthening their ability to be authentically who they are, to trust their thinking, speak their truth, and to listen to themselves and to others with an open, courageous heart.
I consider therapy to be a dynamic, collaborative process that is unique to each individual, couple, and family. As a marriage and family therapist, I think systemically, which means I view each individual’s stated challenges in the context of their life experiences, social, cultural, and historic environments, their identities, and their relationships. Through the therapeutic process of connection, I believe we can experience ourselves in new, more adaptive ways: in ways that promote and encourage our inherent tendency to move toward fully experiencing love, connection, and growth.
