My ideal client would be someone who recognizes they are uncomfortable with something in their life. They don't have to know what that thing is or what they want to do about it at the start of our time together. Ideally, they would be open to exploring their feelings until their goal becomes clear. Once the goal is identified, collaboration will begin about how to reach the goal. My first goal is to put you at ease, show respect, and establish a safe environment for you to feel comfortable. I encourage empowerment and encourage you to take the lead in your sessions. I often begin the first meeting by saying there are no right or wrong answers and that this is YOUR therapy. You will be the driver of the bus. I will be the navigator. My 25 years of experience have allowed me to understand many of the struggles a client may be going through. I want the client to know that I am willing to listen and try to understand each person as an individual and help them explore options to improve their mental health.
