As a Bilingual English & Spanish Licensed Professional Counselor, License #80982, Belinda Perez-Hernandez has a wide range of expertise working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults across the lifespan. Additionally, Belinda has experience working with the disability community and understands the complex and unique challenges of individuals with a disability. Working for more than 25 years in her community, for the State of Texas, and in various outreach academic advising, workforce development, and counseling positions, she has a thorough understanding that the decision to participate in professional counseling is not an easy one. In addition to living busy lives, she understands that sometimes a potential client will hesitate to pursue counseling. Not just because asking for help is difficult, but because acknowledging that something is not ok is one of the most difficult things we can do for ourselves. Especially, when holding it together is something we think we have to do or have become very good at. Furthermore, finding someone to trust with our innermost thoughts can add to our worries. We sometimes also struggle with guilt due to how much we love our family and friends and are equally burdened with the feeling of not wanting to let anyone down or say anything negative about our loved ones.
