Barbara Wormington holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and is set to graduate with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in December of this year. Barbara is an associate licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Minnesota. She is currently gaining supervision hours towards full independent licensure under Kari Lyn Wampler, LMFT. She holds experience working with adolescents and currently works for Children’s Minnesota Partial Hospitalization Program in their Mental Health Department. She has also completed an internship working at the University of Minnesota’s Partial Hospitalization Program for youth with mental health concerns. Barbara is a dedicated listener that specializes in working with families, young children, and adolescents. She believes in treating the whole person with unconditional positive regard. She has experience working in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and leading group therapy. Barbara is a divorced, queer, Native American woman who in her personal life is raising a queer, gender fluid twelve year old while co-parenting with her best friend. She co-hosts a podcast about co-parenting and loves helping others on their journey of raising kids in such a unique time. She is an ally, anti-racist, advocate for human rights that fights for equality everyday. In her free time she loves being outside, traveling, and hanging out with her rescue pup Norah.
