Hello.
My name is Barbara and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor. I have had the opportunity to work for years with people of all ages addressing healing, transformation and growth.
My philosophy is that people have their own internal wisdom and my job is to offer support, feedback and insight to help them find it. In this process, one becomes a stronger, wiser and more integrated person.
Our society is good at teaching us many things, but becoming one’s best self is a personal journey that must be chosen. Sometimes this involves cleaning out closets that house harmful or no longer necessary items. In the midst of our very individualistic culture, it can be of benefit at times to have a partner by your side to help you sift through and transform or release baggage.
Ultimately, I believe counseling can be a modern-day version of a hero’s journey, with the ultimate goal of becoming one’s best self. In this place, we feel clear about what is right, peaceful when storms swirl about, and content with the path we are taking.
