My interest in mental health did not start in the class room, I found it through dancing. Dance had been a part of my life from an after-school activity into a college major and then into a job. Over time, I realized that dance was my way of connecting to myself, my emotions, and my body. Whether I knew it or not, I was learning how to listen to my body and cope with difficult emotions. I became interested in how I can help others connect to their emotions, their bodies, and to know themselves. Group of people dancing showing joy.
