Hello, my name is Azmen, and I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself. It’s so nice to meet you and I want to acknowledge your achievement of the first step! You’re here, you made it! Hope and fear cannot occupy the same place at the same time. Invite one to stay, Maya Angelou said it best. As a therapist, my responsibility and pledge to those I serve is to help in finding relief from life’s pain. My therapy style is tailored to YOUR specific needs, as we collaborate, to identify goals and solutions to many of life's problems. I draw on the unique individual strengths of each person I’m sharing space with while integrating traditional therapy styles with the progressive principles of Mindfulness. CBT, CPT, and DBT. By attending to your individualized and person-centered needs we will work to strengthen positive self-talk; utilizing your value and belief system as a compass, and I am committed to walking alongside you to further develop your "true" self as we build a bond of trust and hope. I am a fully licensed Social Worker with a Master of Social work from Western Michigan University. I graduated in 2012 with the goal in mind to help patients rediscover the person they used to be or overcome struggles to become who they desire to be. I also hold an acudetox specialty and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor specialty license. I have a background in Community Mental Health, Case Management, and Substance Abuse Treatment; with a specific skillset for treatment of anxiety and depression; trauma and PTSD; Impulse Disorders; Panic disorder and Stress Management. I am also DBT certified and offer treatment for borderline personality disorder. I unite with patients to establish mutually agreed upon therapeutic goals within a caring, non-judgmental, and comfortable space where you can explore, discuss, be heard and seen.
