About
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and empathic. I am always considering the larger contexts, cultures, and environment that an individual, couple, or family belongs to. I strive to meet people where they are at and maximize upon their inherent strengths to facilitate meaningful change through the therapeutic relationship. I pay particular attention to aspects of identity including race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender and how these shape a person's sense of self, relationships and their experiences in the world.
I have worked with many teens and young adults particularly in families created by fostering and adoption. I have provided support to parents with young children as they navigate the transition to parenthood and the tasks of parenting young children.
I am particularly passionate about working with individuals and families impacted by trauma as they navigate various life stage transitions during which experiences of trauma can often pose additional challenges.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both Illinois and California. I received my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
