About

Hello, my name is Austin Jones and I'm a licensed therapist (#139713) in California. I believe in providing accessible, evidence-based mental health resources that align with people’s goals — from finding motivation, direction, peace, and purpose in life, to building healthy relationships and a successful career. My approach Weekly psychotherapy utilizes an integration of many modalities including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, humanistic, family systems, and attachment theory to reach goals. Depending on what's called for, we will work on understanding the source of feelings; developing assertiveness skills; developing skills with boundaries; improving self-care and coping; and ultimately building a life worth living. My focus There is no "typical" client for me, and I see therapy as caring about a person and their core concerns rather than treating a condition. Something happens every day that reminds me how fortunate I am to be doing this work. A lot of us have the same complaint: we feel depressed, lonely, or anxious and can't get motivated to complete tasks. For some reason, it's very difficult to progress towards what we want. Life can feel a bit aimless like we're stuck worrying as time is wasting. We believe we lack intention, direction, effort, and follow-through. If something happens, we can respond, but we don't live life with agency. My clients appreciate how we work together to uncover what they want and what’s getting in the way; define values and move towards a life aligned with those values; answer a calling instead of being discouraged by comparisons; understand the source of feelings in order to address core concerns; and ultimately build a more fulfilling life. My communication style My clients find me easy to talk to, warm, genuine, and effective. We work together in partnership to establish a connection as an antidote to isolation. My clients gain the resources, support, and judgment-free environment that they utilize on their journey..
