About

Hello! My name is Ashley. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over eleven years of experience providing therapy services. I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: outpatient counseling, intensive outpatient care, residential, foster care settings, and spent some time in private practice. All of these were focused in Knoxville and the more rural surrounding counties. Also during my career I have managed and developed multiple programs focusing on intense needs of children, adolescents, and their families so I am very familiar with career ambitions, discovering and succeeding at this.

I enjoy working with a variety of clients and try not to focus on just one area; however, most of my experience is general mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, Bipoloar, etc), trauma (childhood and adult), custody/foster care system, and family conflict. As an adoptive parent and legal guardian, I have a lot of experience coaching and counseling adoptive parents/legal guardians through the process before and after. Lastly, I enjoy working with clients on women's issues and career exploration/issues.

Originally from North Georgia, I moved to Knoxville, TN to attend graduate school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where I received my Masters in Social Work with a clinical focus. Previously, I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at the Covenant College in Lookout Mtn, Georgia.

My approach to therapy is client centered: clients are the experts on their lives and determine the direction and depth of therapy. Through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, I draw on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals.

Outside of my work, I enjoy time with my husband and our three children. We love being outside enjoying the mountains. All of our children came to us through the local foster care system or through a legal guardianship arrangement with the courts so I have a lot of experience with the system and courts as a social worker and as parent.

I look forward to meeting and working with you!
