Hello! My name is Asher Casey (he/him), I'm a transgender male (FTM) counselor who is licensed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland, Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC) in the District of Columbia, and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida.

I have been providing therapy services for the past seven years in both private and non-profit settings. I have been in the mental health profession since 2011, working for a non-profit agency providing mental health services for children, adolescents, and their families. Later beginning to work with college students, adults, and couples.

I have experience working with clients experiencing a wide range of concerns and challenges including; depression, anxiety, life transitions and adjustment issues, relationship issues, parenting problems, as well as, LGBTQIA2S+ concerns and issues.

I want to provide a compassionate and engaging space for my clients to feel heard and validated for their experiences. My role is to assist you in finding insight, strategies, and tools to make positive changes in your life. I want everyone to feel a strong sense of connection, respect, and an overall feeling of being understood from where you are right now.

I come from an eclectic therapy approach, meaning I use a combination of theories to work within the client's life and personality. Some of these include: humanistic, and existential theories using evidence based techniques drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and psychotherapy treatments. I believe that individuals should work in a collaborative space to set goals that are tailored to their personal needs and experiences.
