Ashby is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a client centered approach to therapy. She focuses on collaborating with clients and meeting them where they are in their journey. Using a strength-based trauma informed approach to therapy she works with clients to find and master skills that can help make life a little better.
Ashby believes that the most important indicator of success in therapy is ensuring that clients feel heard, respected, and that they have the space to discuss whatever they wish. Ashby works to build a foundation of trust and believes that a collaborative approach in therapy is key. Ashby’s approach is collaborative, providing guidance and gentle challenges to the client when therapeutically necessary. Ashby is comfortable using a variety of treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, etc.) as well as mediums (talk therapy, art therapy, movement therapy, pet therapy, etc.) that best suit each client.
Ashby possesses a Bachelor’s degree from The College of William and Mary and a Master's degree from Boston College with a focus in Clinical Social Work. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Ashby works with a wide variety of clients. Her experience includes working with children, youth, and families navigating complex traumas, to adults with a mental illness, or co-occurring disorders. Her expertise includes trauma focused therapy, LGBTQ+ focused counseling, loss and bereavement, relationship and individual problems, depression and anxiety issues, and working toward motivation to change.
When not working, Ashby loves spending time with her family and dog, being outdoors, running, and getting in time for a good project.
