I began my career as a Child & Youth Advocate with my local domestic violence agency after earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Social Work from Bethel College in 2004. This position inspired me to continue my education and I obtained my Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Tennessee Technology University in 2007. After working in community mental health for several years, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor with the Mental Health Service Provider designation in 2011. I have provided mental health series in a variety of settings including schools, community mental health centers, residential treatment, private practice, and intensive outpatient treatment. My experience includes depression, anxiety, change of life, trauma recovery, and addiction recovery. I view wellness and recovery work from a holistic perspective and believe that the multiple facets of a person’s story are important to be addressed in successful treatment. I do not believe that treatment can be cookie cutter and each client's experiences shape our treatment journey together.
