I'm April Skidgel, LCSW, LSCSW, Ed.S., a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a strong commitment to enhancing mental health and well-being. With licensure in five states, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my practice, prioritizing individualized care that meets clients where they are. Currently, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Lucid Lane, I specialize in chronic pain coaching, medication taper management, and psycho-education on benzodiazepine and opioid withdrawal. My approach involves utilizing evidence-based interventions such as CBT, Mindfulness, guided imagery, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques to empower clients and achieve desired outcomes. In my role as a Therapist , I focus on ensuring healthy student relationships, social-emotional health, and student safety. With a focus on continuous learning, I completed an Education Specialist in Mental Health in Schools from the University of Missouri and Restorative Practices training at Colorado State University. My educational journey also includes a Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where I gained extensive clinical practice experience.
