Hello. My name is Anthony and I am excited to get to know you. After receiving my Master’s degree in Political Science, I found a different calling in being able to help others directly. As a result, I received a Masters degree in Social Work from Long Island University. I truly love being a therapist, and haven't looked back. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families, counseling them on variety of issues including anxiety, depression, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, behavioral modification, social anxiety and depression. I have specialized experience using CBT, narrative therapy, Systems theory approach and Role Theory for families and couples, as well as MBCT and trauma centered care among others forms of treatment. Most of all, I believes in what I call “active empathy”: the ability to understand and share in the feelings of his clients on a consistent and dynamic basis. When clients are passively listened to, they remain isolated in their experiences and alone with their thoughts. When a therapist can truly demonstrate empathy and understanding of client experiences, the client will finally have someone to share the spectrum of experiences and scope of feelings with. In others words, they feel, and are, no longer alone. Through collaborating, advocating, and empathizing along side my clients, I believes they can ultimately achieve their goals and realize their incredible inner potential in doing so.
