I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Addictions and Dependency counselor who has provided therapy to all ages of clients in a variety of situations. I have worked with agencies that provided in home as well as office, hospital and telehealth services.
I am an older clinician with many years of experience working with people with a variety of problems. I treat every person the way I would want to be treated, with respect, dignity and professionalism. I encourage people to tell me what is bothering them rather than putting people into categories. I will provide therapy according to your needs as well as what you feel would be the most comfortable for you. I primarily use CBT and DBT but if there is a problem that can be better served with Behavioral or Somatic interventions than that will be discussed to see if that suits you as well. You will always be in charge of the direction of your therapy because although I know therapy, only you know you.
I provide a warm, encouraging style and would like to be the therapist that leaves you feeling that therapy leaves you feeling better and able to look back at the experience as one of growth and motivation.
