I am a mental health therapist and have been working in the mental health field for 10 years. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Missouri and Illinois. I have experience in working with people whom report a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, personality disorders, bi-polar disorder, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders like postpartum depression; relationship issues, loneliness, loss, and self-harm. I have also worked with people whom have experienced trauma. My approach to counseling is warm, compassionate, and client centered. I believe in listening to a person's story and honoring their journey. I have experience providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. When a person is able to regulate or manage their emotions and thought patterns, often confidence, empowerment, and relationships improve. I like to incorporate the concept of mindfulness into most of the counseling sessions I provide as often being present is one of the best ways to honor one's journey and where they are now.
I tailor my therapeutic approach to your needs and specific concerns. I believe in meeting a person where they are and starting there. I think it takes an enormous amount of courage, willingness, and strength to reach out when one needs help.
