Hi there, I'm Anna Teresa! Hi! I'm Anna Mejia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the greater Los Angeles Area practicing for 8 years. I use Cognitive based and Holistic Approaches in therapy while also applying Psycho-Education throughout. My approach In my practice, I use the Cognitive-Behavioral Model, Mindfulness, Meditation, Grounding and Relaxation Techniques, Strengths-Based strategies, Bottom-Up approach to Anxiety, Sensory Focus strategies, Harm Reduction Skills, Parent-Child Relationship focused, and Trauma Informed approaches. It really depends on what your goals are for the session. My focus I have worked with a wide range of needs. My experience ranges from Severe Mental Illness to people experiencing everyday stressors such as Parental Stress and Organizational Skills. I am passionate and very comfortable working with Couples, Parents, Teenagers, and Individuals with Relationship Stress, Sexual Abuse Trauma, Cultural Trauma, Work Stress, Depression and Anxiety, and Attachments Issues/Impairments. My communication style I intend to provide a Client led approach in sessions. After all, Clients are the experts in their own lives. I could be supportive by taking a hands-on approach by engaging in a Solution Focused or Behavioral Modification Activity, by a Holistic/Spiritual approach with meditation and mindfulness to provide a safe place from everyday stressors, or more of a laid-back approach to provide a place for Clients to process and reflect openly. In the session, you will feel like a Professional. My journey to mental healthcare I enjoy being a Therapist. I love being able to understand and unravel what makes an individual who they are, what role they will take in this world and the growth of society, and most importantly taking part in helping them achieve new potentials. I truly believe we are all capable of infinite love, happiness, change, and growth despite of our traumas, stressors, and present circumstances.
