About

Hello, and welcome. My name is Ann White. I am an experienced licensed marriage and family therapist (MT2500), certified telemental health clinical provider (CTMH #259068), certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC) (CRC #70031), multisystemic therapist (MST), and Christian counselor with more than 22 years of counseling private practice experience in the State of Florida including experience counseling in nonprofit organization settings. I am also a Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida for registered interns both in marriage and family and mental health counseling. I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and the Florida Coalition for Optimal Aging (FCOA). I strongly believe in the value of lifelong learning and currently, I am a Doctoral Degree student in marriage and family therapy with a specialty in couple counseling, nearing completion of my Doctoral Internship II of III and am a Board member (Secretary) of the Delta Kappa International Honor Society, Iota Chapter, Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society for Social Science, and the National Honor Society for Leadership and Success. I earned a master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling with a Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of South Florida and graduate coursework in nonprofit administration. I have lived in Florida for most of my life, although I have lived in other states as well, where I served as an active member of community organizations. I absolutely love living and working in Florida and I greatly appreciate the natural beauty of Florida and the many opportunities life in Florida offers for people who live and visit Florida to refresh, relax, and recharge.

My approach to counseling is comfortable, collaborative, interactive, respectful, positive, evidence-based, solution focused, non-judgmental, and is intended to provide you with a safe environment where you can know that you are seen, heard, and understood as we work together. My approach to therapy is client-centered. I understand that the real expert on your life is you. I offer biblical counseling for clients who request Christian counseling and am respectful of clients' beliefs while keeping my own biblical, Scripture-centered values and beliefs.

I work with individuals from 18 to 90+ years of age, and I have vast experience working with individuals, couples and families, helping them navigate difficult relationship issues, develop stronger emotional closeness, resolve conflicts, improve communication, see each others' perspectives, and build safety and trust in their relationships. I have worked with individuals couples to help them heal from the painful effects of having experienced narcissistic relationships with their partner, spouse, parents and others; and recovering from gaslighting -- both are unhealthy and center on manipulation and control.

I offer individual, couple, and family counseling, relationship and marital counseling, pre-marital and marital lifespan counseling, life transition counseling, career counseling, counseling on resolving workplace issues, and life coaching. I have extensive experience working with military active duty and reservist individuals and dependents in all branches of military service; and first responders and their families.

My private practice is solely telebehavioral health, through video, telephone, and in-platform messaging since the onset of the global pandemic, to provide clients with an easily accessible way to begin and continue counseling safely and securely. Through telebehavioral health, you can meet with me for counseling from the comfort of your own home without the stress of needing to drive to an office for an in-person session, and I offer daytime and evening hours that allow you to not interfere with your work schedule in order to participate in counseling. You may send messages at any time and since messaging is both synchronous and asynchronous, there will be times when we will be able to send messages in real time, and other times responses could be several hours later, allowing you to send messages 24/7.

My counseling practice is inclusive and respects the dignity and value of every individual from every background, culture, and realm of life experience.

Please note: In some cases, more intensive counseling is recommended, therefore I do not see clients under the following conditions: perpetrators of domestic violence (although I do work with survivors of domestic violence); abuse or neglect of a child, a vulnerable adult such as an individual with disabilities or older adult; active substance (alcohol, misuse of prescription drugs, or illegal drugs) addiction or abuse; personality disorders; severe cognitive impairment; incarcerated individuals; or individuals with severe mental health disorders. And I do not do forensic counseling requiring reports, letters, or completing forms for employers or other entities unless required by law in the State of Florida.

I look forward to working with you in your journey to strengthen our relationships with yourself, with others, and for those seeking Christian counseling, in their relationship with Christ.
