Making the decision to go to counseling can be a nerve wracking and scary step. Which is why, I meet my clients where they are on the personal level. My clients know me to be very personable and easygoing — I want them to feel more relaxed from the absolute start of the counseling relationship. As your therapist, I work with you using a non-judgmental and warm approach to assist in accomplishing your goals. In addition, once we have a comfortable rapport established, I look to give you challenges — that we overcome together — for helping in strengthening your personal growth. We all understand life can be overwhelming at times. This impacts our relationships and ability to manage day-to-day stress and tasks. This is why I take a solution-focused strategy and utilize a variety of approaches in counseling to assist clients in meeting their personal goals. When working with children for example, I have a reputation for a “think-outside-the-box” path when coming up with effective interventions. Over the last 10-plus years, I have counseled children, adolescents, and adults in depression, anxiety, mood instability, substance abuse, as well as relationship issues. I utilize Dialectical Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Emotion-focused Therapy. I am a trauma-informed and utilize attachment theory when working with individuals.
