About

My name is Angelina Power. I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania with five years of experience working with people from various backgrounds and life circumstances. I obtained my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I specialize in working with adults with depression, anxiety, PTSD, chemical dependencies, grief, motivation, and self-esteem problems. Additionally, my practice includes supporting professionals around issues of compassion fatigue, burnout mitigation and recovery, and managing stress related to work and professional development. As a bi-racial woman who grew up as a military brat, I've lived in small communities on the Navajo Nation and in rural Alaska. Cultural sensitivity is something I hold in high regard. It is important in my practice of working with others to value and acknowledge their experiences. I believe that I have experience these areas beyond formal training.

I practice with a non-judgmental and solution focused lens by using evidenced based treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Therapy is viewed as a collaborative process in my approach. I embrace where you while we focus on building self-awareness and practicing self-compassion to help you make transformational changes in your life. My goal is to create an inclusive and safe counseling space that will help you enrich your life and maximize your ability to thrive.

Please note that my practice is for live sessions and that I do not provide asynchronous messaging only. Though I will of course respond to messages and shared journal entries. My hours of practice hours are Monday through Thursday evenings between 6:00 PM EST and 8:15 EST. Hopefully this schedule will work for you!
