About
Greetings!!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved PLPC Supervisor. I have over 14 years of experience in Community Mental Health and over 2 years experience in private practice. I earned my Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Louisiana Tech University in 2006. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety/stress, parenting problems, PTSD, family/relationship issues and ADHD/ADD. I have also worked with clients who have experienced trauma (childhood trauma, major car accidents, domestic/emotional abuse and physical trauma).
My goal is to bring inspiration and healing to people who are struggling with life challenges. I want to be a catalyst for change and mental well-being. My personal philosophy of counseling begins and ends with grace and a willingness to enter into an individual's experience alongside of them. I have an authentic listening heart that desires to see people live as whole, healthy individuals. I believe in holistic healing that takes into consideration the whole person - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. I believe that counseling is a pathway for growth and healing. I treat each person as a unique individual, worthy of unconditional acceptance, regardless of his or her personal circumstances or struggles. It is my desire to come alongside, challenge, and encourage my clients to find healing emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
My approach is eclectic therapy, where I adapt to the unique needs of each specific client, depending on the problem, the treatment goals, and the person's expectations and motivation. My goal is to help clients achieve their personal goals, and gain greater insight into their lives. I believing in treating everyone with respect, dignity and compassion.
I applaud you for taking your first steps toward your healing process, and I would love to work with you every step of the way. "True healing is not the fixing of the broken, but the rediscovery of the unbroken." Life isn't always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest people among us need a little help to work through some of life's most challenging problems. I am here to help you dig out, and start feeling better and happier; to support, encourage and empower you.
I look forward to working with you! and remember, "BROKEN CRAYONS STILL COLOR"
