Welcome to Grow Therapy!! I’m Angela! I am a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed clinical addictions counselor. I’ve been practicing since 2006. I have spent 4 years working in private practice settings, 12 years working with DCS/probation clients, and 7 years working in the jail setting (5 of those being the clinical supervisor). I have a passion for working with those who have an opiate addiction-with or without medication management. I have experience working with groups, couples, and those who suffer from anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder (with and without psychotic features), OCD, ADHD, suicidal ideation, crisis intervention, gender issues, and many more. I believe working with those with substance issues takes a certain type of person. I have an approach where I will start doing the work with you and eventually lead you to be able to do it yourself. I believe substances are like umbrellas protecting one from the raindrops of trauma. In order for the umbrella to go away, we need to get rid of those raindrops. I will work with you to accomplish this! Many people have asked if therapy really works. Well, insurance does not cover most things, so it must!! I can say that you get out what you put in. The more honest you are with me, the more I am able to help you reach the goals we set. I will never expect more from you than what you can give at the time as this will only cause more harm than good, but I will also push you to do better!
