About
For many of us, the hardest part about doing therapy is figuring out where to begin. The good news is that you don’t. have to know it all, you just have to start. One thing I’ve noticed during the time I’ve been doing this work is that all roads seem to lead to the same place, so it doesn’t matter where you start because eventually, you will get wherever you need to go.
What this means is that I let you lead the sessions. I do this because while I may be the expert on what I do, you are the only expert on you! So, it makes sense for me to let you tell me about what it’s like to be you. I will make observations and connections along the way, but I will always check them out with you first. I am interested in learning what things are like from your perspective, not trying to get you to see them from mine; although sometimes it can help to look at things from different perspectives.
If you’re looking for a therapy experience with complete acceptance and freedom to own your story and find your inner voice, we should meet. My style is really about meeting you where you are at, so my therapeutic approach can vary—and is truly designed around you. I have years of experience in various applications of therapy, and still find myself feeling so honored and humbled by the experience of walking your journey with you; teaching you skills and offerring encouragement along the way. Reaching out for help takes courage, and I want to meet that courage with compassion.
“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” (C.S. Lewis)
Let me walk with you to this new ending.
