Hello! My name is Andrew and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Minnesota. My journey to working in the field of mental health has been long and unique. After college, I went directly to medical school for a year intending to work as a physician. I soon discovered that I was more interested in psychology than physiology, and I left medical school for graduate studies in Counseling Psychology (MA in Counseling Psychology, St. Mary's University of Minnesota, 2016). Additionally, after leaving medical school I was able to pursue my other passion in the performing arts. When I am not seeing clients, I perform regularly as a professional actor here in the Twin Cities (Actors Equity Association). I have appeared in shows at theaters such as the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Theatre Latté Da, and the Ordway Center. I feel that my experiences in my acting career and my brief medical training lend a unique perspective to my counseling sessions for empathizing with a wide range of people and issues. I enjoy working with my clients to help them identify their own strengths to empower them to reach their specific goals. I am laid back, informal, and non-judgmental in my approach. In over 5 years of counseling work I have experience with in-home counseling and private practice serving adults, young adults, adolescents and schools. When I am not working, I enjoy being active outside and diligently following our Twin Cities sports teams.
