Welcome to Find A Therapist!

Hello, My name is Andrea Mata, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Mexico. I earned my Master of Social Work degree, from New Mexico State University in 2014. I have 5 years of experience working in different settings with individuals and families who are experiencing a variety of personal struggles. I’ve had the opportunity to work with people who are experiencing depression/anxiety, PTSD, family problems, trauma/abuse, relationships/parenting and much more.
Through my experience, one of the most important parts of therapy is feeling comfortable and safe with who you share all of this with. I would be honored to be that supportive person and take this journey with you. I believe it's very important to be open-minded and non-judgmental when someone shares their personal story or experiences. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and I am available to help provide guidance and perspective on your current struggles.
In my approach, I like to start by understanding where you are at and helping you build from your strengths. I understand that sharing your struggles puts you in a vulnerable place, and having a stranger talk to you about this may be difficult. My goal is to always be helpful and provide interventions that are realistic and sustainable for long term benefit. This in return will help relieve stress and any struggles that you may be experiencing.
