About
I work from a person centered approach and believe that people are doing the best that they can with the knowledge they have and the ability that they possess. My first focus is self-care and mindfulness in session. I work with a variety of ages and provide individual, family and couples counseling. I have experience working with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Social Phobias, Complex Trauma and many other areas.
I work primarily from a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approach, which means that I focus on emotion regulation, distress tolerance- coping skills and interpersonal effectiveness- relationships with other people. I also use aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Its about becoming safe to feel what you feel. I work to make my clients feel comfortable and accept them for who they are. We all have struggles throughout life and my goal is provide nonjudgmental services to everyone who walks in my door.
